Where to Live on Singer Island
Singer Island is an island just off Florida’s southeast coast technically within the city limits of Riviera Beach and part of Palm Beach County. It’s easily accessible along Highway A1 and which runs East and West across Lake Worth Lagoon and Highway 703 which runs North and South down through the John D MacArthur Beach State Park onto the island. Technically, Singer Island is not a designated island per se because it’s connected to the mainland by the state Park and is more of a Peninsula but considered an island named after Paris Singer, relative to the family that founded the Singer sewing machine company.
Today’s Singer Island is full of beautiful upscale condominiums and apartments. So where’s the best place to live on Singer Island? While the term “best place” is all relative to your budget and what you consider best, I would suggest that it depends on your budget, your tastes, what you desire in a condominium amenities and the location of where you’d like to live. Do you want to be more on the mainland side or the Oceanside? Close to beaches or within walking distance to your favorite restaurant? Do you want beachfront access or simply a beautiful view?
Singer Island is home to several different condominium buildings and resort style apartments with stunning homes starting at just $500,000 and easily topping out over the two or $3 million mark. Singer Island is a beautiful island peninsula just off the coast of Riviera Beach Florida housing some of the most luxurious waterfront properties and oceanfront condos in Palm Beach County. Most of the condominium complexes on Singer Island feature resort-style amenities such as an in-house spa, fitness centers with weight rooms and fitness equipment, swimming pools, lap pools and hot tubs, media facilities and business centers, guest services and 24-hour concierge services. The outstanding and historic architecture of Worth Avenue is one of the reasons the shopping district has been named one of America’s Iconic Places and put in a category with shopping districts such as Rodeo Drive where the who’s who of California can be found. The architecture is mainly Mediterranean with stately archways lining Worth Avenue on both sides and stunning mahogany wood ceilings. The avenue underwent a major renovation in 2010.
The courtyards tucked away off of the main road of Worth Avenue are known as vias. Each via is a piece of quiet serenity with architectural and garden artwork. Upon seeing one of these vias you instantly want to sit and stay awhile to take in the scenery of what feels like a hidden treasure.
Worth Avenue is home to around 250 high-end retailers, dining establishments, art galleries, boutique stores, salons, and spas. Kassatly’s is the oldest store in the Worth Avenue Shopping District dating back to 1923. There is a great mixture of large retailers as well as one-of-a-kind boutiques to meet the taste of any shopper looking for the best in luxury merchandise. Some stores on Worth Avenue include Tiffany’s, Ralph Lauren, Niemen Marcus, and Chanel.
The sense of community on Worth Avenue is a big part of what makes it so special.
