Perhaps it’s been a while since you bought real estate, maybe it’s the last time or maybe this is the first time down this path; but whatever the reason, being prepared before you step out into the real estate world can be the difference between a happy closing and a confused one.
As a Jupiter real estate agent I want to make the home buying process easy and fun but it helps to know the process and steps ahead of time so there are no surprises down the line. Each transaction is different and there is usually something that pops up along the way that was unexpected, so that’s one of the first things to expect – the unexpected.
You are dealing with numerous parties here; the seller, banks, lenders, escrow and title agents as well as two sets of real estate agents as well and because of this, every dynamic can be different. Try and remain flexible and reasonable and you will be pleasantly surprised when things go smoothly.
Make sure you have your financing in hand before looking at property. If you are applying for a home loan, have the paperwork and application completed before looking at a single house in Jupiter. The reason is, if you are not ready to buy, you may not look at homes you can afford. If you find a home you love only to discover later that you can’t afford it, it can be very disheartening. A great lender will draw up a letter of pre-approval to present to sellers when submitting an offer. This will show the seller you are a serious buyer, ready to move forward. I can help set this up with a qualified lender in the area if you would like. Learn more: Do I Need Perfect Credit to Buy a House?
Then comes the fun part – looking at homes. There are so many homes, estates and property options in Jupiter and surrounding areas. From gated country club homes to casual villas with a water view. And the price ranges are all over the board as well from $100,000 condos to multi-million dollar homes on acreage. Whatever you are looking for, you can certainly find it here.
Once we have narrowed your search down to a few homes you think you like, drive by them, get a good sense of the neighborhood and how far the local coffee shop, market or school is. Find out where you will be commuting to on a daily or weekly basis and how the home fits into that realm. I can then show you any of these homes up close and personal and give you more information on the area or subdivision. After we place a solid offer, we negotiate for your terms, price and any issues that may come along. As your agent, I negotiate on your behalf and help clear up the sometime confusing jargon of a real estate transaction.
I assist you through the home inspection process and offer advice on my years of service in the Jupiter area. I want you to be happy with your home purchase, not only now, but years in the future as well and it all starts here, getting what you want out of a home now.
