Construction and plans are underway for the new fields and facilities in the Abacoa Park. Plans are set for completion in August but the fields will not be usable until September due to the sod establishment. Because Spring training was busier than usual this year there will be 130 new parking spaces completed. There will be a grand opening celebration for the Abacoa Park in late summer or early fall.
On Saturday, May 30 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Plaza Down Under on the river walk there will be a Jazz and Arts Festival. This will be a beautiful festival to view and to hear as you check out the waterways and the Riverwalk.
The Inlet Village businesses are open during the A1A construction project which will create a more pedestrian friendly and bicycle friendly streetscape. Local business owners want you to know that the Inlet Village will be keeping their businesses open even though some traffic inconveniences are expected. But ultimately, this will result in a more functional and safe roadway in the business district for the town.
The Roger Dean Stadium has announced that Monday night during the Florida State league session they will dedicate the game to the members of the Abacoa community. This “Abacoa Night” will help prosper togetherness and appreciation for the community. For $25, fans will be able to purchase a membership for this event. Members will receive free admission to 19 Monday night games, one dollar hotdogs and sodas, 10% off in the team store and unique discounts from business partners at the Abacoa Town Center.
On Sunday, May 24 at the Abacoa Town Center amphitheater starting at 3 p.m. enjoy music by Collie Buddz. Bring the entire family for food, vendors and great music for all ages. Even though you cannot bring your coolers or chairs, blankets are welcome and tickets are just $20 in advance on Ticketmaster.com.
