Abacoa is a large non-gated community in the town of Jupiter with its own town center. When most think of the Abacoa Community the words spring training, weekend markets and ArtiGras come to mind. Lately the Abacoa Town Center is seeing a shift in activity bringing renovation and changes that will re-generate business.
The Allure at Abacoa, a new housing community with town homes, lofts, and single story or “flat” apartments, is now opening for residents. This 300 unit building is in walking distance of retail and business space built around its own pool courtyard and includes a private dog park. The building will also have 17 business spaces available. It is a great space for those who want to live right where they work and play. Apartments are renting from $1200 to $2200 a month.
Cinebowl is a new entertainment center that Abacoa really needs since the tear down of the movie theater. The 75,000 square foot center will have a bowling alley of course, billiard tables, live music venue and a luxury movie theater.
Civil Society Brewing Co. will be Jupiter’s first brewery and is slated to open this summer. The company which is owned by three local residents plans to brew about 1000 barrels in their first year made available to local restaurants. The brewery plans to have a bar as well with no food service.
Just steps from the town center is Roger Dean Stadium the scene of spring training for the Marlins and the Cardinals. Recently about $1.6million in improvements was made to the stadium including new seats and sound system. More new upgrades are just around the corner and the two teams have extended their contracts through 2027.
The new Courtyard Marriott Hotel has enjoyed its first spring in business and is booked to capacity during spring training with mostly Cardinal fans.
The nearby South Jupiter Community Park has seen a major $4million overhaul as well bringing interest into Abacoa. 14 acres of land right next to the current park has been cleared to install lighted multipurpose sports fields, walking trails and more parking.
Some people are skeptical of all the money being put into Abacoa, but the focus isn’t just on bringing in new retail and dining establishments. A Jupiter based developer has purchased a big chunk of the Town Center and plans to “attract brainpower as part of the rejuvenation.” The company plans to bring in professional offices for biotech, aerospace and other companies. They believe Abacoa to be the center of some of the best demographics in the country with families, science, spring training, and a country club crowd.
Over all everyone involved with the new happenings at the Abacoa Town Center believe that a better family image will bring business in to Abacoa. Abacoa Town Center is on the map and well known people of the area just need to be reminded of how great the Town Center can be.
